Movement Medicine Day Dancing with the Earth Element to learn to welcome ourselves. Saturday, November 6 in Aix-en-Provence.
Welcoming ourselves: this day is an invitation to celebrate the Earth and My Earth, i.e. my body.
It offers the possibility of slowing down to better feel and care for your body. It lets you know what feels good. It's an opportunity to start or strengthen a relationship of benevolence and acceptance with your body.
Taking care of your body means taking care of yourself
I can't really explain the relationship between the Earth and my body. It seems self-evident. I've noticed that often when I try to take better care of my body, it's good for the Earth and vice versa. For example, when I decide to eat local, organic and seasonal produce, I'm doing good for my body and the Earth.
And every time I do something good for my body, it does something good for me.
Feel the Earth through my body, Feel my body through the Earth
- Feel the earth beneath our feet. At every moment, it provides us with a solid support on which to stand, walk or lie down and rest. It's always there for us, catching us when we fall. See the Earth as a force and an unconditional support.
- Develop the feeling of our body. Slowing down. Use body movement to massage and knead body matter. Awaken every muscle and every bit of skin to feel it better. Find stretches that feel good. Recognize and accept your body's strengths and vulnerabilities, so you can live with them better. Give it kindness and gentleness when it's so often considered a means of transport.
Dancing with the Earth element is like walking barefoot
It's the opposite of arriving with your big hooves
Or keep your feet warm in your socks (slippers?)
When I take the protection off my shoes
Developing my sensitivity
My skin is in direct contact with the ground
I feel the roughness of a stony path
And the softness and mellowness of a damp grassy soil
Both what's comfortable and what's not
I need to slow down and take the time to look at where and how I'm putting my feet.
To avoid injuring myself or crushing an insect, a young shoot
My bare feet leave fewer traces, my footprint on the Earth is lighter
In this workshop, we are invited to dance barefoot
Literally and figuratively
To explore the unique conditions necessary for us to dare to go barefoot in life.
